My name is Alison and I have been teaching English online for 7 years. I am a native English speaker from Ontario, Canada. When I was young, my family moved to Texas, USA. There, I studied English and French in university. After I graduated, I traveled and then moved to the Dominican Republic, where I live now.

I love art and music. I love to draw and paint. I play the guitar and saxophone. I sing and write music as well. I am very interested in learning about people and the cultures they come from, and I love having conversations with my students about the topics that they love.

I have a degree in English and I specialize in writing and grammar. I have been teaching conversational English, professional vocabulary, writing skills, and English test preparation for 7 years. I have studied the IELTS exam in detail and can help you understand exactly what to study for the test in order to achieve your goals. My teaching experience includes adults, children, university students, professionals, and people with various disabilities and special needs.

I will teach you by accommodating to the way that you learn best, and motivating you to learn independently.
